Position:


Operational Responsibilities:


  • Planning drivers and resources to meet work demands and achieve minimum key performance indicators
  • Assigning drivers and maximising the utilization of vehicles on a daily basis
  • Plan all relevant customer deliveries & collections, ensuring delivery windows are achieved
  • Coordinating with depots and customers to agree delivery schedule
  • Update all records that relate to transport i.e. deliveries & Returns and rebooking's
  • Source local subcontractors as and when required holiday cover
  • Ensure the Schedule, transport plan, routing system and any other work sheet is produced and sent out where required
  • Complete driver's packs each day, ensure each pack has the relevant paperwork in it and the correct instructions for the drivers to complete their jobs
  • Manage the drivers run, ensuring you follow the correct driver's hours legislation and WTD
  • Resolve Customer queries / complaints where applicable
  • Fully understand agreed KPI's for the transports department and strive to stay within these margins
  • Any other transport office related duties as required

  • You have great negotiation and influencing skills.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • You attend and participate in meetings and training sessions that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
  • You may be required to undertake any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time.

Requirements:


  • Experienced within a fastpaced route planning environment
  • Previous HGV route experience (or similar
  • Fleet Management)
  • Up to date knowledge of the latest transport regulations (Vehicles & Drivers)
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal at all levels

Other information:


Salary:
£28,000 per annum


Hours:42.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
