    Calling out the bakery and patisserie enthusiasts We've got an exciting opportunity for you.
    Our client is looking for a NPD / Development Chef who will join the New Product Development team.

    We're looking for someone with a proven track record of working in fast-paced environments within Food Service or food manufacturing.

    You will respond to customer briefs generated by the sales team.

    You will liaise with suppliers to organise raw materials and packaging and managing project timelines supported by the NPD Manager.

    Through thorough analysis of gaps in the product ranges and keeping up to global trends you will suggest new ideas and develop new products in response to the briefsOn Offer:

    • Salary circa 45,000 25 days holidays + bank holidays
    • Auto enrolment in pension
    • Mon – Fri office hours

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop new Pastry Products and other sweet innovative products to meet customer requirements.
    • Drive innovation.
    • Redevelop existing lines.
    • Compile costing documents in relation to NPD or EPD.
    • Work with suppliers to source new raw material and packaging.
    • Prepare samples requested by the customer.

    Criteria and Qualifications:

    • A real passion for food.
    • Food science degree or Level 2 Professional Patisserie and Confectionary certificate (or similar).
    • Knowledge of food preparation and creating recipes from scratch.
    • The ability to work to deadlines.
    • IT Knowledge of MS Office and Data inputs.
    This is a hands on and practical job. You will be asked to support with Factory trials, cleaning duties and GMP in the test kitchen area.
