We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic administrator with a keen eye for detail to join our Imaging department as an Imaging Administrator.


Our small and friendly Imaging team work together to ensure that our patients receive the best clinical care in a modern hospital.

We are a progressive department, fully committed to staff training and development, demonstrating good clinical practice and patient centred care at all times.

This role is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts will a rotation of be 8.00am - 4.00pm, 8.30am-4.30am, 10.00am-6.00pm or 12.00pm - 8.00pm


Role Responsibilities include:


  • Welcome all patients, visitors, consultants and staff to the Radiology department and provide direction to other hospital departments when required. Provide a reception service in a warm and friendly manner, responding appropriately to enquiries from all parties.
  • Accurately register new patients from private GP referrals and tailored "Spot" contracts, and input patient data on the Patient Administration (PAS).
  • Advise patients clearly on the preparations needed for their appointments; including fasting instructions, abstention from nicotine & caffeine, full bladder requirements as well as special dietary instructions.
  • Arrange/obtain up to date renal function blood test results for contrast scans as directed by the protocol.
  • Demonstrate problemsolving skills within the scope of the duties of the post, in handling both routine and nonroutine enquiries and arrangements.
  • Be responsible for data protections and patient confidentiality in the office to ensure staff are aware of all relevant regulations.
  • To ensure all aspects of IM&T services are functioning. Manage and escalate equipment failure should it occur, minimizing disruption to service.
  • Assist with training new or less experienced staff by demonstrating and explaining departmental practices and procedures when necessary.

Person Specification:


  • Be educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent)
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to prioritise workload, remain calm under pressure and ensure excellent customer service at all times
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, have the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with Radiology patient information and booking systems (RIS/PAS) is desirable
  • Experience working in a similar role within the healthcare sector is desirable.
