We are looking for a Accounts Assistant to join our thriving team The role will involve assisting our Accounts Department

The Accounts Assistant is there to support the Accounts Manager with business accounting activities.

  • Deal with financial transactions, client office and petty cash
  • Post transactions on to the Finance software package
  • Deal with banking matters including writing cheques
  • Paying disbursements
  • Archive private client information
  • Comply with Solicitor's accounts rules and the rules of professional conduct
  • Ensure the confidentiality of information relating to the Firm and client information at all times
  • Comply and keep up to date with the Office Manual, Human Resources Handbook, Firm and departmental operating policies and procedures, as updated from time to time
  • Processing expense requests
  • Cash book maintenance
  • Basic administration
  • Enter and code financial transactions appropriately
  • Process payments as well as documents like invoices
  • Make and track payments
  • Make bank deposits and keep up to date records
  • Check all financial transactions for accuracy
  • Key data into company accounting system
  • Disburse funds as needed
  • Required_
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently
  • Proven ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads
  • Must be a team player with a flexible approach to working
  • Capability to undertake all assignments in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer literacy
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Discretion, as dealing with confidential information
  • Good standard of spelling and grammar
  • Ability to work to deadlines and to do several tasks at the same time
