An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced
Employment Associate to join our clients' award-winning international, commercial law firm where you will be part of their successful Commercial Employment team, based in
Manchester.
We are looking for a technically excellent junior to mid-level employment lawyer who is ambitious and keen to be involved in a mix of general advisory work, employment-related litigation (respondent work) and transactional employment law matters (in particular, the employment aspects of M&A transactions).
You will be given plenty of client responsibility and exposure but at the same time be part of a supportive team environment, and will be allocated to a senior member of the team for support and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice to a broad range of clients, from company owners and managers, HR professionals and inhouse lawyers, to private sector organisations, as well as senior employees and executives, on a range of employment matters.
- Managing a good mix of contentious and noncontentious employment matters.
- Undertake all aspects of employment law including drafting various employment documents, maternity and paternity rights, discrimination, whistleblowing, employee relations issues, disciplinary matters and grievances, mediation, dismissals, redundancy, TUPE and employment tribunal claims.
- Transactional support.
- Build and maintain client relationships.
- Contribute to business development
Requirements:
- Law degree (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience of working within a wellregarded respondent focused employment team.
- The ability and experience of managing a caseload providing sound commercial advice.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Adheres to guidelines and procedures.
- An understanding of clients' needs and expectations.
- Flexibility in approach and a willingness to work outside normal office hours, if required.

Salary:
£40,000 - £80,000 Depending on experience
Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17: hours per week)
