Description
About the role
We offer an exceptional opportunity for a Research Technician to support research programmes within the Wray Lab. We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual who is passionate about cell models and their impact on our understanding of neurological diseases. You will differentiate iPSC into microglia and organoids, and subsequent downstream biochemical analyses and will have experience of cell culture.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant research environment and at the cutting edge of disease-related neuroscience both within the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the UK Dementia Research Institute as well as through collaboration with external laboratories and industry.
The post is available immediately and funded by Race Against Dementia to 31 March in the first instance.

About you
You should have a BSc (or be close to completion) in Neuroscience, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, experience of working with stem cells, and a working knowledge of Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. You will be capable of critical thinking, and of voicing your own opinions, have the ability to work well under pressure, have strong IT skills, and have a careful and methodical tissue culture technique, with rigorous attention to detail.
This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
What we offer
Starting salary offered in the range £34, - £36, per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
