An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic and innovative team on Ward C25, Head and neck Unit


On C25 we pride ourselves on our high standard of pre and post-operative care This is an excellent environment to develop and learn multiple clinical skills.

You will be supported by our dedicated clinical educator and the ward team. We care for patients following ENT, Maxillo Facial and Ophthalmology surgery as well general surgical patients. We regularly administer Enteral Nutrition. We also provide palliative care for patients who are not suitable for surgery.

Main duties of the job

You will be involved in delivering direct care to patients to meet their needs. We have high acuity patients on the ward requiring close observation.


The Head and Neck is committed to consistent high standards of patient care and this has been reflected in our excellent patient feedback.

C25 has an established Shared Governance council that promotes positive changes for our patients and staff.

The ward currently has a Clinical Educator and clinical Support Trainer in post available to support you with any development you wish to undertake and will also organise a full and in-depth induction to the job role and area.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient/client care through personal actions and continuous improvement.


The post holder will support the Registered Nurse in ensuring the delivery of high quality patient/client care upholding dignity, delivered with kindness and compassion.

Provide and monitor the nursing care for a designated group of patients/clients during a care episode.

Actively contribute to an effective learning environment and support others in their learning.

The post holder will promote a team nursing philosophy of care.

Qualification

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to Nursing Associate practice;
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Understand the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in the context of the team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development;
Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of ability to mentor Demonstrate an involvement in link nurse, or project work

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
