    Senior Sports Instructor - Summer Camp - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

    Cambridge St Faiths

    Hours: 07:30-17:30, Monday-Friday (Total hours will not exceed 45 hours per week)

    Salary: £681.39 salary per week based on factors such as age, experience, qualifications, and camp size. Salaries for February Half Term Contracts will be on the 2023 wage level, with the 2024 wage level effective from 1st April.

    Reportable to: Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office. Barracudas prioritizes the well-being of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF SENIOR SPORTS INSTRUCTOR

    • Conduct Induction Training and oversee Set-Up days prior to Camp
    • Manage paperwork and high-risk activities in line with Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice
    • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations for a secure environment
    • Plan diverse timetables with suitable activities for different age groups
    • Supervise Early and Late Club sessions, including staffing and activity scheduling
    • Keep Area Managers and Central Office informed on a regular basis
    • Utilize sports expertise to train staff, maintain safety standards, and enhance activities with proper equipment
    • Demonstrate new activities to build staff confidence in delivery
    • Schedule Skill Builders courses and monitor their implementation
    • Supervise paperwork with Specialist Instructors: Multi-Activity, Fencing+, and Lifeguards
    • Communicate with parents/guardians daily
    • Maintain site and Baserooms cleanliness and ensure proper equipment storage
    • Evaluate staff performance for end-of-season reviews

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Mandatory attendance at Senior Training events
    • Background in sports, Coaching experience (preferably with children), or team leadership
    • Authorization to work in the UK
    • Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or existing one on the Update Service
    • Provide professional/academic references
    • Engage in Induction Training Day(s)
    • Desirable qualification in Barracudas Multi Activity
    • Complete Online Training annually
    • Assist in camp pack up at the end
    • Preference for 1/2 seniors with Paediatric First Aid training

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Adhere to Health and Safety protocols outlined in manuals and training
    • Proactively address safety issues
    • Prepare for Induction training using relevant manuals
    • Evaluate each staff member at contract end
    • Report Child Protection concerns to Central Office
    • Acknowledge and support children with specific needs
    • Administer medication as required and document appropriately
    • Be prepared for swimming sessions as needed
    • Role flexibility based on camp attendance
    • Perform various tasks as needed by the organization and its objectives
