This is a commercial role for a part-qualified Management Accountant currently studying towards a CIMA/ACCA qualification.

The individual will be a valuable support to the finance and operations teams working across their global divisions for this leadingManagement consultancy firm based Hemel Hempstead.

This role is for a part-qualified individual with management accounts experience

Commercial Management Accountant role to join their global consultancy firm with an impressive client portfolio from their Hemel Hempstead head offices


As Commercial Management Accountant, you will manage project accounts, enabling effective cost control and ensuring the provision of key management information to the project team.

You will partner with management of projects to drive financial performanceagainst business and project goals.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, you will be accountable for safeguarding the commercial, financial, contractual, and legal interests of the business relating to a portfolio of projects; support internal and external customers in the respectof commercial advice and guidance in the day-to-day operation of business with a focus on optimising financial performance


This is a hybrid role with an expectation to work from the Hemel Hempstead head office at least 2-3 times a week.


Description
Commercial Management Accountant duties and role;

  • Prepare and review various financial data outputs: daily and monthly sales, P&L templates.
  • Assist in monthly commercial analysis on sales, margin, staff expenses, communications expenses and other expenses.
  • Support Accountants in the monthly and quarterly closing process and review financial statements.
  • Review actual costs against budgets and prepare revisions highlighting areas of overspend to management
  • Analyse Key Performance Indicators on a monthly basis: analysis of projects and portfolios
  • Contribute to budget process including submission of the required reports within deadlines.
  • Attending specific meetings including D2B (Decision to Bid) and Credit Management meetings
  • Completing and signing off monthly task list
  • Assisting the Senior Commercial Finance Manager with the preparation of the annual divisional budget
  • Preparation and posting of financial journals
  • Assisting with audit requests
  • Performing other ad hoc duties as required to support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager

Profile
Commercial Management Accountant experience and characteristics required

  • Finalist or Part-Qualified Accountant studying towards a CIMA/ACCA qualification
  • Good communication skills; able to communicate effectively with senior finance and nonfinance individuals
  • Highly numeric with problemsolving skills
  • Advanced level spreadsheet/Excel skills and PC literacy to include pivot tables and vlookups
  • Driven individual with a desire to improve existing processes
  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail whilst meeting deadlines
  • Preference for experience with Salesforce and/or analytical tools
