Description

The post holder will provide operations support to the Day and Residential Services, ensuring that our back-office functions operate efficiently and effectively and managers are supported with administrative duties - including managing petty cash; minuting meetings and keeping records on systems such as SharePoint up to dated and current.

To undertake minor projects as required on behalf of the Senior Operations & Project Manager aimed at service improvements.

  • Share information about relevant services/events in appropriate accessible format as required.
  • To ensure policies and procedures within the services are uptodate and shared with the respective services staff.
Maintain files, records and systems, both manual and computerised, necessary for the effective running of the service

  • Carry out general administrative duties e.g.

opening sorting and recording incoming post:

ordering stock and stationery:
photocopying: minute taking: updating of movements/visits/leave/training records etc.

  • Collate and provide statistical information as required.
  • Receive and respond to queries received by a range of contact points logging information accurately and alerting staff and managers accordingly.
  • To use and assist others in the use of information technology systems to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Maintain records necessary to monitor budgets and to provide such financial information as is required, in liaison with the Service Manager.
  • Responsibility for the completion of such statistical returns as is required by management.
  • Undertaking handling of monies received and banking monies as required in keeping with departmental guidelines.
  • To support users to develop office skills with in the office environment of the centre as identified in people's Person Centred Plan's, monitoring their progress so that they can be supported to move on to outside employment when appropriate.
  • To organise meetings and invitations, take notes/minutes of meetings and ensure actions and followup work is carried out accurately and efficiently. To include the management of agendas, forward plans, and submission of reports to team meetings.
  • To achieve agreed service outcomes and outputs, and personal appraisal targets, as agreed by the line manager.
  • To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars and other events designed to improve communication and assist with the effective development of the post and post holder.
  • To carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Council's commitment to customer service excellence and ensure compliance with the customer care standards.

  • Ensure legal, regulatory and policy compliance under GDPR, Health and Safety and in area of your specialism identifying opportunities and risks and escalating where appropriate.
  • To follow the Pan London Safeguarding Adults procedures to raise concerns where individuals have experienced or are likely to experience significant harm.

The post holder will be part of the Islington Provider Services Operations Support Team.

Islington Provider Services provides services which enable individuals to maximise their independence, building on their strengths and enabling people to live healthy independent lives for as long as possible in their own homes, or the place they call home.


We provide a range of services for Adults in Islington who are over the age of 18 with a range of needs including learning disability, physical and sensory needs, mental health, and older people.

The post holder will provide operations support to the Day and Residential Services, ensuring that our back-office functions operate efficiently and effectively and managers are supported with administrative duties - including managing petty cash; minuting meetings and keeping records on systems such as SharePoint up to dated and current.

The post holder will work Monday to Friday and based at our Residential and Day services across various locations.

The future direction is for the services to become increasingly multi agency and the post may need to change in line with service development requirements.


The post holder will be committed to working in a strengths-based and person-centred way, connecting people with informal, community-based support wherever possible.
