    Job overview

    The post holder will assist in the delivery of high quality STT colorectal services throughout the Trust. Working alongside other clinical and nursing colleagues to provide expert care and support for this
    patient group.

    The post holder will contribute to advancing the body of knowledge through education, research and audit as well as developing practice. They will play a key role within the multidisciplinary gastro and colorectal team to ensure a seamless, coordinated, and timely approach to care.

    To facilitate triaging & assessment of the STT colorectal referrals with the requesting of appropriate investigations within the endoscopy and radiology unit.

    To facilitate STT colorectal results clinics which will allow for the downgrading of STT colorectal patients off 2ww pathway. Facilitating monthly STT colorectal meetings with annual audit of the STT Colorectal service.

    Main duties of the job

    An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 6 STT CNS role in our Colorectal department. Role will involve triaging, vetting and requesting investigations for patients referred under 2WW colorectal pathway.

  • Triaging and vetting 2WW colorectal referrals.
  • Telephone consultations and pre-assessments with 2WW patients.
  • Requesting endoscopy and radiologic investigations.
  • Liaising with the colorectal MDT.
  • To work collectively with the other STT CNS team to facilitate a streamlined service.
  • To ensure that clinical governance is maintained through attending service line meetings relevant to the straight test colorectal service.
  • Working collaboratively with the colorectal surgical team to discuss and manage complex referrals on triaging.
