    Description

    Our client, a growing business within the furniture industry are looking for an experienced upholsterer to join the team in the Reading warehouse of the business.


    Responsibilities:

    • Cut and apply foam and upholstery fabric
    • Experience working with a variety of upholstery materials
    • Sewing and cutting skills
    • Strip down and re-upholster furniture, using supplied and own-made templates
    • Apply buttoning and cushioning
    • Use hand and air compressor toolsFix webbing and springs into seatsCover frames with padding and fabric using sewing machines, stitches, staples, tacks and glueUse decorative techniques such as fringing, piping and buttoningRenovate and re-upholstering old furnitureCut wood to replace damaged seat boards etc

    Skills needed:

    • to be thorough and pay attention to detail
    • the ability to work well with your hands
    • the ability to use your initiative
    • to be flexible and open to change
    • potential work on Saturdays (if needed)
    • knowledge of manufacturing production and processes
    • design skills and knowledge
    • the ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools
    • the ability to work well with others
    • confident to complete work onsite at offsite premises
    • strong work ethic, resilient, self-starter and a can do attitude
