An opportunity has arisen to join Acute Services within NHS Forth Valley as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Acute Medicine/Hospital at Night. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse who will embrace this dynamic and challenging role. Ideally the applicant will be a competent and qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner and preference will be given to those candidates, however this is an opportunity for an appropriately experienced nurse to join the team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in training (Annex 21) and applications will be considered from those with the relevant experience and academic qualifications to undertake such training. The post holder will possess advanced knowledge of the acutely unwell patient thus ensuring their effective management and treatment. They will provide direct patient management in partnership with senior medical staff, have sound clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills in acute care. Experience of working at a senior or advanced level in Acute Medicine and/or Hospital at Night is essential.
The applicant should posses the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, and be flexible in an extremely busy environment. The post will support part of the advanced practice team based in FVRH and involves rotation between Hospital at Night, Acute Medical Admissions and Rapid Assessment and Care Unit.
