Quality Supervisor Plants

Reporting to:
SuperFlora Plants Quality Manager


We are looking for a Quality Supervisor, with focus on delivering the best possible Plants and Planted arrangements at a very competitive cost, in line with the business objectives, whilst ensuring procedures and customer specifications are followed at all times.

The Quality Supervisor for Plants will demonstrate strong attention to detail at all times.


To achieve the main objective of this role, the Quality Supervisor for Plants will monitor their own key performance indicators (KPI's) and should always strive for continuous improvement in relation to own and businesses KPI's; proactively presenting suggestions and improvement plans to relevant departments in the UK and also NL.


Primary Functions

  • To ensure plants and planted arrangements are produced to customer specifications.
  • To have input on specifications being created for their area of responsibility, challenging and discussing all details with relevant teams in UK and NL.
  • To assist Quality manager in ensuring adequate QA cover within their designated area is available at all times whilst identifying training needs for staff.
  • To establish and maintain good communication links with all teams in UK, NL and with relevant customer peers.
  • To work with all teams in UK and NL to ensure positive KPI results are achieved. (i.e. Plants and Hardware wastage ,Off-Norm, Customer complaints)
  • To produce KPI reports for their designated area when required, with improvement recommendations and suggestions.
  • To ensure plants supplied meet legal, label and passporting requirements.
  • To Ensure Hardware / Packaging assessments are carried out in a timely manner.
  • To ensure operational procedures are followed in their designated area, that all relevant forms are being completed correctly and to enforce good handling practices to all staff on site.
  • To be seen as a role model on Health & Safety procedures ensuring these are followed by all staff on site.
  • At the request of the Quality Manager, carry out audits, assessments and assist on any project work as and when required.
  • The Quality Supervisor for Plants will be asked to deputize for management roles within the Technical Team. (i.e. Peak, holiday, sickness or weekend cover)
  • Play an active role on New Product development, including hardware selection process and relevant testing requirements at all phases.
  • Take part in grower, customer, Defra and any other site visits at the request of the Quality Manager.
