    Design Engineer

    About the Company: Kier Professional Services (KPS) is seeking a Design Engineer to join their expanding team located in Bristol. KPS is the engineering consultancy arm of Kier Group, offering design solutions, technical advice, and engineering support to all divisions within Kier.

    With over 2,000 designs annually supporting 400+ projects, KPS stands out as one of the leading Temporary Works designers in the UK. Their team of 100+ Temporary Works engineers brings extensive experience in designing and verifying Temporary Works for projects of all scales and industries.

    What will your responsibilities be?

    As a Design Engineer at KPS, you will collaborate closely with project teams to contribute to a wide range of civil and structural services in both Temporary and Permanent Works across Kier's projects. Your role will involve providing safe and feasible solutions for more complex services in their temporary and permanent phases.

    Your daily tasks will include:

    • Temporary Works design and verification for above and below ground structures in various materials, coordinated with Permanent Works design when necessary.
    • Developing alternative solutions and engaging in value engineering to enhance Kier's reputation.
    • Supporting tender processes and bid successes by emphasizing buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
    • Assessing and reviewing 3rd party designs for technical compliance with project requirements and Kier standards.
    • Proposing alternative solutions and value engineering to strengthen Kier's competitive standing.
