Job description:
Responsibilities
- Deliver the 6FTS mission with passion and purpose
- Organise and manage the annual recruitment campaign
- Conduct selection sifts and interviews for student and staff recruitment
- Line management of two administrators, associated performance appraisal reporting, development, mentorship and probation
- Owner of Squadron public and nonpublic accounts
- Owner of Squadron logistics of student training schedules, with delegated support of staff
- Representing UAS with external/internal stakeholders at meetings
- Facility management and Health & Safety of Squadron Estate
- Overarching quality control of HR administration process iaw policy
- Welfare POC, student mentor, Diversity & Inclusion champion and associated report writing
- Resolution of daytoday service delivery issues with the contractor and users
- Management of regular and ad hoc team meetings
- Dealing with telephone and written enquiries in a positive manner considering the data protection legislation, delegated authority and the statutory guidance and directions
- Organisation of formal functions
- Any other tasks as directed by OC UAS and HQ 6FTS
All University Air Squadrons are developing understanding and delivery of virtual membership, training, marketing and recruitment.
Whilst not directly linked to this role, knowledge and experience of the digital landscape towards marketing via social media, photo/video editing is desirable as we evolve digitally.
Person specification:
Essential Experience
- Experience/Understanding of performance management, leading a team and conflict resolution
- Good working knowledge of IT systems and Microsoft Office365 (Particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint & Microsoft Teams)
- Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and agreed standards
- Experience of virtual meetings, conference calls and screen sharing
Desirable Experience
- Understanding of GDPR/Data Protection legislation to ensuring that there is no unauthorised distribution or publication of personal or sensitive data
- Understanding of SAGE accounting software, some locations use Excel
- Understanding of the digital landscape, marketing (business, charity, social) via social media and video/photo editing
- Equality and Diversity Practitioner, or prepared to study toward
- Experience in recruitment and onboarding activities
- Military interviews will require a mandatory training course
- Driving Licence
