    Description

    The East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) is a 2-19 generic special school with 435 pupils on roll. The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding school community.

    We are seeking to recruit a permanent mathematics curriculum leader to develop our existing mathematics curriculum.You will join a passionate team of teachers and support staff who are committed to delivering the curriculum in engaging and inspiring ways. You will be an excellent teacher/leader who has the ability to inspire, motivate, challenge and support their pupils to ensure that they make excellent progress.

    It is very important to us at the East SILC that all of our teachers feel valued, listened to and mentored well so that they have opportunities to develop. As with all appointments to the East SILC staff may be asked to work at any site within the organisation.

    We are looking for a leader who has expertise and experience in developing and delivering an outstanding mathematics curriculum, and can implement this in a specialist setting.

    The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner and have experience of leading curriculum development.

    ·To be able to work with children with complex needs.

    ·Must have an interest in and experience of working with young people with a wide range of additional needs.

    ·Has the ability to work with parents/carers, professionals and the wider community.

    ·Willing to make a positive contribution to the broader life of the school.

    Able to select and deliver a range of appropriate accredited qualifications/certifications in maths
