    The Role

    Due to significant growth plans for our consulting business, we are seeking to enhance our Carbon Advisory (CA) team with experienced individuals who are driven by solving complex technical challenges for our clients, that are key in achieving decarbonisation and tackling climate change.

    Our CA team are industry leading experts in decarbonisation assessments across the energy and materials sectors including:

  • Emissions baselining and lifecycle carbon assessment
  • Decarbonisation opportunity assessments and road-mapping
  • Policy guidance and consulting
  • Climate risk and opportunity screening
  • We are seeking to speak with individuals that have a genuine drive to transform the world through providing technical advice to our clients on the above listed areas. The backgrounds of our consultants are varied so there is not one path. However, we typically seek consultants that have precious experience in Engineering focusing on decarbonisation or from an environmental or sustainable field of expertise.

    The typical jobs roles that we are seeking to fill are; Carbon Advisory Team Lead, Subject Matter Expert Consultants and Principal/ Senior Carbon Advisory Consultants.

    Whichever role you come into you will interface with a multi-disciplinary team of highly capable Subject Matter Experts, Consultants and Engineers to deliver best in class solutions that will ensure high customer satisfaction.     Our Carbon advisory team are driving decarbonisation across the globe. Our experts have a depth of experience providing proven and agile decarbonisation solutions for the energy and materials industries. We are using our expertise to ensure clients meet decarbonisation targets set by investors, governments and key stakeholders.

    Our in-house capabilities include;

  • Emissions baselining and lifecycle carbon assessment inclusive of all aspects of Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions.
  • Identifying, screening and evaluating supply and demand side emissions reduction technologies and initiatives via our decarbonisation opportunity screening framework.
  • Building net-zero decarbonisation roadmaps with journey times, drivers and identified milestones.
  • Inform client decision-making to support CO2 emission reduction from a cost-of-carbon-abated perspective.
  • Developing climate governance and management frameworks and embed decarbonisation across development life cycles.
  • Identifying, assessing, mitigating, and managing climate related physical and transitional risks and opportunities
  • Informing clients on and factoring into decision making current and future decarbonisation policies, product carbon intensity standards, carbon pricing and funding opportunities.
  • Ultimately supporting clients achieve their climate change ambitions.

  • Typical responsibilities

    The responsibilities for each role will differ depending on your experience level and which area you are focused on. However, across all roles you will:

  • Support business winning and leading proposals to secure new work
  • Complete work to a high standard, using Wood and Client methods, standards, and data in line with requirements
  • Develop business relationships with clients and partnerships with in-house consulting teams
  • Represent the Carbon Advisory team in technical presentations to external and internal customers
  • Provide a technical interface and manage relationships with clients. Proactively identifying internal and external customer needs or issues
  • Raise awareness of the business environment, market and on-going innovation in technology and research in climate-related subjects and issues
  • Developing tools and methods to improve the efficiency and quality of work performed by the team
  • Liaise with and support the Business Manager in tracking study/ project activities
  • Skills and qualifications

    Expected:

  • Masters Degree in Process / Chemical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a technical environmental/ sustainable development related subject
  • A good understanding of carbon emissions quantification, decarbonisation techniques, circular carbon economy, energy transition
  • Strong analytical skills and can systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical components of a problem
  • Excellent communications skills both verbally and written
  • Demonstrable high-quality report writing and presentation skills
  • Good organisational and project management skills
  • Keen to learn and to share learning with others
  • Desirable:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi discipline teams
  • Demonstrated proficiency in international best practices in energy and carbon efficiency
  • A thorough understanding of the international policy and economic frameworks driving climate change agendas
  • Demonstrable background in decarbonisation studies and/or life cycle assessments
  • Experience in assisting clients to map energy and fuel usage and associated carbon equivalent emissions
  • Experience in assisting clients to identify and screen emissions reduction opportunities
  • Chartered to an internationally recognised Professional body (or working towards)
  • Good negotiation skills
