    The Mixed-Use Development sector in UK and Europe is enjoying record levels of investment and change, driven by a need to evolve and Mace aims to capitalise upon this sustained growth by maintaining strong and sustainable relationships with all levels of industry/ client organisations.

    Project: The purpose of this role is to lead and develop Mace's Mixed-Use Development sector business, creating and providing an integrated service offer which involves a combination of project management, programme management, cost management, design, sustainability management, development management and strategic advice to Mixed-Use Development sector clients across the UK and Europe.

    The Sub-Sector lead will report into the Business Unit Director for the Commercial Sector, in the Consult Engine.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and strategic direction to the Mixed-Use Development sector business unit in Mace.
  • Working with other Sub-Sector leads - sharing best practice / intelligence / customer relationships etc.
  • Working with Regional leads and Centres of Excellence to deliver on business plan.
  • Recruiting, motivating and developing quality people to support Mace's growth in the Mixed-Use Development sector.
  • Promoting effective communications within the business and with the Mixed-Use Development sector clients.
  • Managing and liaising with other directors of the business.
  • Ensuring the capacity and capability of the resource made available to clients.
  • Obtaining the right training and development for people within the business.
  • Supporting and sustaining the Mace values, behaviours, and culture within the business unit.
  • Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with senior client representatives.
  • Preparing a realistic and deliverable marketing / BD strategy for the sector in Mace.
  • Maintaining effective client relationship / account management with the Mixed-Use Development sector clients.
  • Being the face of the company in dealings with clients and the wider industry.
  • Working with marketing and communications teams in Mace to raise profile of the sector.
  • Establishing appropriate strategies for delivering relevant projects and programmes.
  • Developing realistic resource plans and budgets for project work.
  • About you

    The successful candidate will be expected to embrace Mace's culture and values and will feel able to buy-into the long-term vision of the company. With the ability to demonstrate exceptional performance and a track record of consistent work- winning within Mixed-Use Development sector. The candidate will be capable of forming and maintaining good working relationships at the highest levels in client organisations, as well as within and across Mace.

    The candidate will be an experienced and capable communicator, will be articulate and open, and comfortable when representing the company and his or her clients in a public forum. As well as being a confident leader of existing projects and programmes the candidate will be capable of planning and developing new areas of business across the UK and Europe.

    It is essential that the right candidate has a prior, in-depth knowledge of the Mixed-Use Development sector, ideally achieved from both a client organisation and service provider. It is important for this individual to be capable of quickly assimilating the needs of the sector, in order to determine the future direction that the sector is likely to take across the UK and Europe.

    The Sub-Sector Lead will be comfortable in dealing with people at all levels within the industry and will be confident in discussing current issues affecting projects or programmes with executives as well as with executive leadership of tier one contractors and consultants. Contributing with fresh ideas on strategy, business planning, and service delivery that will challenge normal practice.
