We are working with an award winning MedComms agency in Altrincham seeking an experienced Account Manager to join their team.

Based in in a large modern open plan office and established over 25 years, this agency have won multiple awards and have been a leaderfor creating important content and communications within the healthcare sector.


The key purpose of the role is to deliver financial goals for assigned accounts through effective internal teamwork and building robust partnerships with key client stakeholders.

The Account Manager will project-manage the team to deliver high-quality outputsthat support your clients' strategy and achieve their goals.


The Account Manager will:

  • Contribute to the organic business growth of your designated accounts
  • Gain a working understanding of the client's market, product profile and competitor environment so that you can grasp discussions and contribute appropriately
  • Develop a good understanding of the Belief Continuum approach and how it allows the agency to combine the client's strategy and science into a compelling, evidenceled story
  • Actively participate in brainstorms and scoping discussions to ensure that initiatives communicate key messages to drive changes in stakeholder behaviours
  • Take ownership of project management tasks relating to business development opportunities and contribute to the development of the document that will be presented to the client. You will also present sections of proposals or elements of communicationsprogrammes to the client
  • Develop valued relationships with clients
  • Attend client meetings and lead agreed project and financial management elements, following up any assigned actions
  • Take a fresh approach to scoping a project, leading an internal team to generate ideas on how to best communicate the narrative and key messages
  • Proposals/quotations show an understanding of the brief, the therapy area and the product, as well as translating the agencies value
  • Update financial spreadsheets (confirmed and unconfirmed) by the agreed monthly deadlines, ensuring that all projects are captured fully and accurately to enable the Senior Management Team to gain an oversight of future/expected sales versus targets
  • Query with clients, write up a specific brief and verify with lead account personnel and the client
  • For complex projects, lead brainstorming and project costing meetings independently or under the direction of lead account personnel as appropriate
  • Develop accurate budget proposals and be accountable for monitoring time and costs throughout project delivery
  • Work with Account Executives (AEs)/Senior Account Executives (SAEs) to draw up schedules that take client needs into consideration and balance internal resource
  • For commercially led projects/tasks, support the AEs/SAEs in utilising the Trello platform to brief tasks into the studio and assist the Studio Manager in managing conflicting deadlines where necessary

Other responsibilities of the Account Manager will be:

  • Line management responsibilities for up to 2 x junior team members, including Account Assistants and AEs
  • Conduct full performance management reviews (PMRs) for assigned line reports by gathering 360degree feedback from the wider team in order to set objectives and a clear development pathway
  • Take a proactive approach to mentoring and developing all junior members of the commercial team by contributing to PMRs as requested by line managers and sharing knowledge/learnings/experiences to ensure that the whole team succeeds together
  • Contribute as requested to PMRs of colleagues outside the commercial team and across the wider business
  • Build and maintain positive and appropriate working relationships across all of the agencies departments and all levels of seniority, supporting the broader company team to achieve their collective company goals

Requirements:


  • 3+ years working as part of a team to meet internal and/or external needs
  • 3+ years' relevant experience in a healthcare communications agency
  • Line management experience/experience of mentoring junior team members and contributing to their training and development as appropriate
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • High degree of organisational and timemanagement skills for daytoday project deadlines
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
  • Clear understanding of the financial reporting of projects and highlevel numeracy skills
  • Ability to build influential relationships
