We are currently working with a hybrid working model, where there is the option of working from home combined with 4-12 days a month of working in the office.

About this role:

The YoungMinds Parents Helpline provides parents and carers with life-changing information, advice and support, and we are looking for a Parent Engagement Officer to join our incredible team.

This is an exciting, challenging and critical role, which will help centre the experience of parents/carers in everything we do, and ultimately shape the future of the service.

Your role as Parent Engagement Officer will be vital in ensuring parents and carers across the UK know about our service and support, so that they can access it when they need to support their child's mental health and that their voices, lived experience and feedback are central to our work and help to improve our service.

We want to involve more parents and carers in our work and are making it a priority to engage those who are most marginalised from the mental health conversation, including those from Black and Minoritised communities.

You will establish networks with organisations, statutory services and communities that help to support young people's mental health and their families, to raise awareness of the Parents Helpline and promote our services.

Your remit will include leading, designing and co-facilitating workshops and insight sessions with parents/carers - ensuring you create safe, inclusive and mutually beneficial spaces for participation.

Travel will be required as a part of this role and you will be fully reimbursed for your travel expenses.

You may also be required to work occasional evenings and weekends when facilitating workshops or working with partner organisations.

About you:

- demonstrable experience of working with parents and carers from marginalised communities
- experience of organising and facilitating sessions, workshops or activities with diverse groups and communities
- ability to design safe and engaging activities that elicit lived experience and key insights that can be used to shape service development
- an understanding of what anti-oppressive practice is and what role you play in supporting marginalised, Minoritised and racialised people in the work you do, including challenging the systems that impact them the hardest
- an understanding of the social and cultural factors that may impact an individual's mental health and their experience of health services

We hope that you would like to join us at a very exciting stage of our growth and development. You'll be joining a bright, dynamic team who have a passion for supporting our ambitions.

And what's better than enjoying your work in beautiful surroundings and within our offices which are just a stone's throw from the historic Tower Bridge
