ROLE SUMMARY:


Inspired is continuing to grow in size and complexity and is looking to recruit a position of Group Head of Tax to help support the Group in its next stage of development.

The role is an exciting opportunity to support M&A activity, ensuring tax reporting and tax compliance obligations are met, implement tax governance initiatives and manage tax planning throughout the business.


The individual will be a key part of the Group Finance team, and will liaise with senior stakeholders within the Group executive management team, Group Finance, UK and overseas finance teams.


This role is within a busy Head Office team working where demands vary from day to day, so flexibility of working practices and the ability to react to a variety of ad-hoc situations, either as part of a team or under your own initiative, are essential.

The role has one direct report.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure the Group meets and maintains all tax compliance requirements across all the relevant taxes; corporation tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing and employment taxes.
  • Managing the group effective tax rate and cash tax reviewing, proposing and implementing tax planning opportunities to reduce the corporate tax rate, minimise indirect taxes and reduce risk to the Group.
  • Prepare the annual transfer pricing Master File and Local Files for all countries Inspired Education is active in.
  • Raise awareness of global tax issues and effectively communicate issues to senior leadership.
  • Proactively support and partner with business and functional teams at the Group Head Office with the aim of creating sustainable value for the Group whilst proactively managing tax risks.
  • Working with external tax advisors to establish, implement and maintain transfer pricing policy, documentation, benchmarking and interest charging position of the Group for all intercompany financing and management recharges.
  • Responsible for managing the Group's tax risks, maintaining a tax risk register and documenting tax controls across the Group.
  • Advise on tax implications of acquisitions and reorganisations, reviewing tax clauses of SPAs and supporting Business Development team on acquisitions.
  • Managing the tax aspects of the Group's management equity scheme.
  • Providing of day to day tax technical advice to local finance teams.
  • Review tax reporting submissions from local finance teams, preparation of tax disclosure notes in Group and UK accounts.
  • Overseeing and reviewing UK Corporate tax compliance, including CFC and CIR compliance.
  • Managing tax audits and enquiries.
  • Coach and develop 1 direct report (direct tax)

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


  • Able to think strategically, looking at the bigger picture and connecting the dots between functions / other initiatives
  • Strong influencing and senior stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to evaluate alternatives and drive decisions as well as communicating with senior stakeholders effectively
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects
  • Record of good academic achievement
  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified
  • Experience of corporation tax, international tax, VAT, transfer pricing, treasury, and employment taxes in a multinational group
  • Strong Excel skills with experience of working with large Excel based financial models
  • A proactive selfstarter with drive, determination and commitment to get things done
- 'Can do' attitude with a willingness to solve problems and tackle new challenges

  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines with the capacity to multitask over several ongoing projects in a fastpaced, rapidlygrowing environment
  • Well organised and conscientious with good attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
