    Job Title:
    Lawyer - Adults, Children & Health


    Starting Salary:
    £50,848 plus £5,222 Market Enhancement, with the opportunity to progress to £56,246, plus £5,232 Market Enhancement, per annum, plus one off Welcome Payment of £4000(pro rata for part-time)

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, Lexcel Accredited Legal Services Team in order to provide high quality legal advice primarily to the Adult Care Services Department of Hertfordshire County Council

    Working as part of the Adults, Children and Health Team you will be providing high quality legal services to the County Council's Members, Adult Care Services, Children's Services and Public Health Departments and, in particular, to provide Adult Social Care Law advice, including advice to the Hertfordshire Deprivation of Liberty Supervisory Body, Approved Mental Health Professionals and to act as an advocate before Tribunals and the Court.

    This role offers the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of legal areas relating to the protection of Vulnerable Adults and Children.

    Therefore, you will need to be able to provide accurate, comprehensive and timely legal advice whilst managing a varied and demanding caseload.

    You will need to have a recognised legal qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.

    You will have experience of holding a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters and experience of conducting your own advocacy.

    This role offers the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team of legal professionals with the aim of supporting the County Council to deliver its key services.

    English Fluency:

    The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post (for those whose language is a signed language the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English to the necessary standard of fluency will be required).

    Driving Roles Only:

    As part of this role, you will be required to travel to other HCC Sites/Residences either using your own mode of transport or a company car.

    In light of this, the ability to drive and/or travel around the County is required for this role a DVLA check will be required on appointment.
