What are we looking for


Reporting directly to the Operations Director VP, this is an exciting and challenging role for the business where you will be responsible for the development and leadership of a robust Procurement function, a role which plays a significant part in contributing to the success of ITM Power.

This responsibility includes developing and delivering a strategic vision for procurement, including operational planning and execution.


We are looking for a highly professional and proactive individual skilled in managing a team in the delivery of procurement business priorities and delivering best practice procedures.


You will be focused on developing strategy, developing a team, ensuring that performance is always improving, managing key supplier relationships and supply chain risk mitigation.

You will have a strong commercial acumen and ideally be from a manufacturing or engineering background with extensive experience in leading and motivating a team to deliver cost savings.

You are analytically strong, commercially astute, articulate with expert negotiation skills and are able to express your vision clearly.

Your excellent interpersonal skills allow you to develop relationships within the organisation and to seek continuous improvement of processes to add value to the business.

Naturally confident in working in a collaborative manner and a desire to seek opportunities to develop synergies across our business.


Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership to the procurement team
  • Develop and implement a robust purchasing strategy
  • Lead key supplier relationships in order to support growth ambitions
  • Supply chain risk management and mitigation planning
  • Negotiation of key contacts
  • Development of internal processes and procedures
  • Development, monitoring and reporting against agreed Procurement KPI's
  • Increase the presence and impact of the procurement function across the business through strong stakeholder engagement
  • Develop category expertise within the team
  • Lead cost management exercises to identify waste and drive savings
  • To constantly assess opportunities for development of the procurement capability
  • Developing the longterm sourcing and supplier strategy to deliver exceptional levels of customer service whilst ensuring optimal agility, efficiency and profitability
  • To engage collaboratively with senior stakeholders to understand functional requirements and to translate these into an overall strategic agenda that delivers excellence in procurement

About You

Knowledge and Experience

  • Level 6 MCIPS and/or relevant degree in Business or Engineering disciplines
  • Experience leading and delivering procurement services at a senior level, ideally within a manufacturing, technical environment. EPC exposure is advantageous
  • Broad supply chain experience supported by professional qualifications
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence behaviour
  • Working knowledge of Contract law and drafting contract terms
  • Determined negotiator and demonstrable track record of delivering savings
  • Excellent know how in strategic and operational processes
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team with the ability to coach and mentor team members to help develop their skills and experience
  • Experience in undertaking tenders, managing key supplier relationships and communicating well at a senior level
  • An ability to interpret terms and conditions and experience of negotiation
  • Proficient in Excel and preparing reports
