    Role: Lead System Architect (Director level)

    Salary: £120,000

    Package: £168,000

    Industry: Financial Services

    Working: Hybrid 2 days onsite

    Wedo is a partner to a Global Financial Services organisation that advises three-quarters of the world's leading insurers and are one of the world's largest providers of actuarial and insurance solutions. Their software and enterprise products leverage SaaS, Cloud, Data Management, Analytics as well as Machine Learning and AI.

    They need a Lead System Architect who can upgrade an on-prem 20 year old legacy application to full SaaS solution hosted on Azure. This is a Director level role in the business and part of a MVP team of 30 and providing strategic architecture leadership for the product family.

    Whilst this is a greenfield project, the work has started and you'll contribute to what's already in place. The objective is to have a hybrid launch by the end of 2025 to then go fully SaaS thereafter.

    The successful Lead Systems Architect will have the following experience:

    • your career as a software engineer
    • will have progressed into architectural and design-focused positions and demonstrated architectural leadership and experience in successfully delivering increasingly complex products and solutions
    • A background in building and architecting backend, front end SaaS-based solutions with at least one successful case story of launching something into production.
    • You need extensive and recent Azure knowledge and ideally certifications to back this up on Azure Architect – Expert (if no cert then please apply still)
    • will have a successful track record over delivering multi-year enterprise level solutions.
    • guiding and mentoring multi-disciplinary teams of software professionals in terms of systems design and architectural best practices.
    • Conduct PoC's using the latest technologies and present the findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

    • who wants to be hands on

    Interview process

    • 1st stage – 30–45-minute screen (non-technical)
    • 2nd stage – 1.5 hour – 2 hour - remote technical interview with the Principal Architect + Tech Lead
    • 3rd stage – competency interview with Senior Director of Delivery
