Our client is a well-respected supplier of specialist timber doors to the UK housing and construction markets for over 40 years and has been established for over 150 years.

With a specific focus on bespoke and fire-proof products, this role of TechnicalManager will report directly to the Commercial Director and undertake a variety of tasks to support the correct completion of quotations/estimates for bespoke timber and door products whilst focus on ensuring compliance to regulations, standards, and accreditations.


Working within this privately owned and established business, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to provide support, guidance and expertise to the sales operation and take on real responsibility from overseeing workloads to managingbespoke production requests and projects, ensuring they are delivered with accuracy and professionalism.


As aTechnical Manager and Estimator, you will be responsible for:

Developing and maintain full technical support for all products in the fields of fire door specification, BWF Certifire, glass specification, CE marking standards, UKTR register and FSC accreditation whilst being aware of any changes to these standards toensure continued Company compliance.

Support the sales team and customers with regards to matters relating to product specification and technical support.


Responsible for the production, processing and issue of all bespoke quotations concerning door sets, door kits and bespoke doors where detailed technical or specialist knowledge is required.

Ensure that all key information relating to bespoke enquiries and quotations is recorded accurately to guarantee traceability.

Manage ESG register and provide data submission from key corporate customers.


Co-ordinate and place orders with suppliers for both products and services ensuring compliance to standards and accreditations listed in item 1.

Ensure that all bespoke cusomter quotations are confirmed and signed off accurately prior to order placement.

Oversee the workload and activity of the Joinery unit.

Report to Commercial Director and Sales Director as appropriate to co-ordinate procurement requirements relative to sales demands.

Provide product training to JB Kind personnel as required.


To support this role, you should have/be the following:
Specialist knowledge of the timber industry, ideally in relation to timber doors.

Capable of making decisions autonomously to satisfy the commercial requirements of the Company.

Capable of dealing professionally with contacts within and outside the Company.

Structured and organised working methods.
