- Provide personal care and support to elderly residents in accordance with their individual care plans and preferences.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Administer medication and ensure that residents' medical needs are met according to prescribed guidelines.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate medical personnel and family members.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for residents, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration, ensuring that residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, building trusting and respectful relationships.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily care logs, medication administration records, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with other members of the care team, including nurses, healthcare assistants, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and holistic care delivery.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in care provision and best practices.
- Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a care setting, preferably with elderly residents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control practices.
- Understanding of person-centered care principles and commitment to promoting residents' autonomy and dignity.
- Willingness to undergo relevant background checks, including DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
- Reliable and punctual, with a professional attitude towards work and commitment to upholding ethical standards in care provision.
