We are looking for an experienced Master Production Planner to join us and drive production efficiency through effective capacity planning and scheduling.


The Role


An exciting opportunity for a Production Planner who understands how to deliver accurate production plans that ensure we have the capability to promise, and produce schedules that maximise IAE's production capacity.

You will build a team and methodologies to deliver on this brief, building, owning and maintaining the MPS (Master Production Schedule), and leading initiatives to create and effectively utilize multiple planning strategies to drive the production scheduling requirements.


The Master Production Planner will work alongside Production to manage workflow on the factory floor while also working with Procurement to coordinate the material to support production.

You will ideally have 5+ years in a similar role.

The successful Senior Production Planner will also work closely with IAE's internal implementation team to assist with delivery of a new ERP system, featuring full finite capacity planning and scheduling functionality.

As such, a deep understanding of using such systems and the ability to maximise their efficacy would be highly desirable.

You will;

  • Provide materials, production capacity, and labour analysis
  • Provide comprehensive capacity planning analysis to resource level
  • Manage the supply chain planning activities, being responsible for accurate endtoend schedules
  • Assist in the effective planning of material requirements and manufacturing workflow
  • Assist other functions in adopting strategic inventory and material management techniques
  • Develop and deliver performance data to the Production Director and Board of Directors
  • Have day to day management of up to 2 members of staff within the planning team
  • Attend/chair Production Planning meetings
  • Provide system development input

You will also:

  • Understand how to validate and maximise efficiency of schedules in ERP systems
  • Have experience of Finite Capacity Planning
  • Drive data governance and efficient ERP best practice

The Person
Planning & scheduling experience is a must, ideally within the manufacturing (steel fabrication) sphere.

Experience and prior use of ERP embedded capacity planning and scheduling systems would be highly advantageous, as would experience of ERP/capacity planning & scheduling implementation.

A highly motivated individual with the desire to succeed, and the ability to challenge and inspire will succeed in this role.


The Rewards
