What we are looking for
We are currently seeking a Retail Team Leader to join our Retailteam, based at the racecourse in Ascot, Berkshire.


What youll be doing

Reporting to the RA Retail Manager you will be responsiblefor the smooth running of the Ascot Shop on racedays as well as the preparationand stock management in the lead up to racing.


We have 2 permanent shops on site running on all racedays, with an additional 2temporary structures which are in situ for the week of Royal Ascot.


This role isfor the week of Royal Ascot only with extended hours from Tuesday 18thJune to Saturday 22nd June which would be 09.30 to 19.10.

You mustbe available for all the dates and times above.


Responsibilities

  • Managing the day to day staffing of the shop, ensuring that there is good service coverage across the day whilst managing lunch breaks/comfort breaks and stock replenishment
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for and customer enquiries or complaints.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Maintain a fully stocked store
  • Ascertain customers needs and wants
  • Recommend and display items that match customer needs
  • Welcome and greet customers
  • Manage pointofsale processes
  • Actively involved in the receiving of new shipments and stock management
  • Keep up to date with product information
  • Accurately describe product features and benefits
  • Follow all companies policies and procedures

Qualification, skills andexperience

  • Proven working experience in retail sales is desirable
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proficiency in English
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service focus
  • Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
  • Basic administration skills

What you can expect from us

Uniform and a daily lunch will be provided. Ascot offerscomplimentary parking to all staff and the racecourse is just a ten-minute walkfrom Ascot train station.

We will be paying £16.55 per hour (exclusive of holiday pay).
