Plant Operator / Machine Operator
Bagley, Ellesmere
Full time, Monday to Friday.
Starting salary £25,000

Our client in Bagley, Ellesmere is recruiting for 2 shift plant operators.
This position is full time, Monday to Friday and will work on a rotating 8 hour shift pattern between earlier and lates (no nights).
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain the proper condition of tools, test equipment and workshop equipment.
- Installation, inspection, operation and maintenance of certified mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, pipework, tanks, pressure vessels, pneumatic systems etc in hazardous areas. Where necessary, assessing and writing risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for the task.
- Participate in failure investigations and report back reliability issues within the plant.
- Properly document and accurately report all maintenance, repairs, overhauls, adjustments and inspections; and ensure the integrity of work procedures including permits to work, work instructions, work orders.
- Being a key part of all operational runs and driving process efficiency.
- Tidiness and cleanliness of worksite conditions including minimising wastage in all areas of work.
- Coach and mentor future Plant Technicians/Operators.
- In conjunction with your supervisor, progress and complete training plans as identified by your annual appraisal and competency matrix.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- HND or B-TECH in any major engineering discipline and/or qualification such as an apprenticeship.
- Demonstrable competence in a wide range of engineering skills and disciplines including pumps, pneumatics, pipework, and instrumentation.
- Basic workshop skills including, fabricating, and machining.
- Be able to read and work from drawings.
- A full UK driver's license
- Demonstrable strong health and safety awareness.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Forklift and telehandler licence.
- Experience with flow, temperature, and pressure instrumentation.
- IOSH Working Safely.
- Experience on anaerobic digestion, water/sewage treatment or waste management site.
