Children and Young People's Services

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week.

We have vacancies for enthusiastic, motivated and creative individuals to join the Rotherham Leaving Care Service. You will have experience of working with young people either individually or in groups.

You will have knowledge of the needs of young people leaving care and the barriers they face as they move from the care of the local authority into adulthood and independence.


You will hold a caseload of young people aged 16 to 25 and will be expected to support them into adulthood providing a range of practical and financial support.

This will involve advocacy, negotiation and working with other agencies and colleagues to ensure young people's needs are met. You will be committed to supporting young people to reach their potential.


You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to form positive, sustainable relationships with a diverse group of young people.

You will need to possess a high standard of assessment and planning skills, ensuring the young person's voice is paramount in their Pathway Plans.


You must be able to work under pressure, be sensitive to the confidential nature of the work and have an understanding and commitment to the promotion of equal opportunities and anti-oppressive practice.

You will be expected to work independently and as a member of a team. To support you we will offer continuous professional development including supervision and support, learning events and practice seminars.
