    Permanent
    Description

    Join our forward-thinking approach

Strength in people. Strength in communities. Strength in diversity.

At Royal Borough of Greenwich, we're strong believers in empowering people and building on their strengths. This applies to our residents as well as our workforce. Our strengths- based approach means our employees get more job satisfaction by enabling them to work alongside residents in an outcomes-focused way, using strengths-based, person-centred, and evidenced-based practice. We enjoy our work and ensure we deliver the best outcomes in a supported and nurturing environment.

Our Complex Care Team works with vulnerable residents and their carers who are often experiencing a crisis in their lives. Taking a strength based approach we support them to identify ways to address their concerns and situations they are currently experiencing and to address needs and minimise risk. The resident could have addiction issues and chaotic lifestyles, self-neglect, hoarding, neuro-diverse, young adults transitioning from children to adult services and meeting the criteria for support under Care Act 2014, requiring direction from Court of Protection due to care and or accommodation or have safeguarding concerns that need to be addressed to maintain their safety and wellbeing.

Following a recent internal re-structure to meet the changing demands and needs of the service, we are seeking experienced, talented, and motivated candidates for the role of Deputy Team Managers, Social Workers Level 1 and Level 2, and Social Care Assessor to help us to make our vision a reality. Complex Care team is a very supportive team who supports staff through regular structured supervision and ad hoc management support, flexible working, excellent learning opportunities often tailored to the specific needs of the team. We encourage peer learning and development and as part of CPD look at encouraging progression through the Practice Education Professional Standards (PEPS) and Best Interest Assessor Award (BIA) along with other mandatory training.

Social Worker (Level 1 and 2)

We are looking for experienced, talented, and motivated social workers to make our vision a reality. The social work candidates will need to be registered with Social Work England and good social work experience. The ideal candidates will be able to complete good strength based comprehensive assessments with residents' demonstrating strengths and needs and determining their eligible under the Care Act 2014 for care and support. The social worker will have experience in adult social care and demonstrate the ability to manage complex case work to a high standard.

Level 1 social workers will be expected to manage a protected case load of complex case work. Taking a strength base approach, you will support individuals and their carers to complete a comprehensive assessment, identify strengths and care and supports needs and how to meet the needs. You will support clients where safeguarding concerns have been raised to reduce risk and mitigate further abuse where possible. You will also work with those that self-neglect or hoard, and how this is impacting on the individual and or others around. Complex care runs a duty system and you will be expected to be on duty or back up as part of the rota, which covers the month.

Level 2 social workers will be expected to provide advice and guidance for less experience social workers and will be expected to supervise less experienced social workers and or social care assessors. You will also be expected to have more complex protected case work, for example those that require guidance from the Courts. You will also be expected to undertake the role of Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) and support staff in developing risk assessment plans and risk mitigation plans. Complex care runs a duty system and you will be expected to be on duty or back up as part of the rota, which covers the month.
