Description
We seek an enthusiastic, experienced team player to join our gynecology surgery and post-graduate education teams.

They will have a vital role in facilitating and delivering high value simulation and laparoscopic training to trainees of all stages from within London and further afield.

They will be joining a dedicated and expanding team of consultants, fellows and administrators with a special interest in post-graduate education in mínimal access surgery.

The trust has recently received a grant in order to grow and develop its current offering of surgical training courses to provide provision for many more trainees.

The post will involve the administration and coordination of this expanding training provision.


A demonstration of experience of and commitment to delivering post-graduate surgical training and a specific interest in medical education is essential.


We provide services from two main hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, and a number of clinics across London and the South-East.

We have over 6,000 members of staff that are PROUD to Care for nearly one million people.

Both hospitals provide full clinical services, including full maternity, emergency and children's, in addition to a range of community-based services across London, such as award-winning sexual health and HIV clinics.

We are currently spending £25 million on expanding our adult and neonatal critical care facilities at Chelsea and Westminster and redevelopment of our children's unit at West Middlesex - in partnership with our charity, CW+ and generous donors.

The post holder will have the following duties in addition to those described above:

  • Clinical
  • Attending weekly theatre lists in mínimal access benign gynaecology.
  • Attending clinics in benign gynaecology.
  • Gaining the technical skills as listed above.
  • Participation on the oncall rota for obstetrics and gynaecology.
  • Management
  • Participation in audit and governance activities of the
  • Be responsible for recording relevant educational activity including outcomes, and produce an annual report.
  • Engage in the education of other junior doctors, nursing staff and other
  • Academic
  • Production of a educational video resources for a number of surgical techniques and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical research on surgical training and laparoscopic programmes.
