We have a requirement to populate their ServiceNow CMDB with an up-to-date view of the current assets within their IT estate incorporating Networks, Servers, End User Devices, AWS EC2 instances and ECS Containers.

Responsibilities
CMDB and discovery related development and deployment.

Early life support.

Training and knowledge transfer/documentation

Set up and deploy ServiceNow Discovery Tool to:
Test and validate discovery processes and assess impact in development and test environments.

Perform discovery in production environment of the following (the number of each device type indicates the required level of licence provision):

650 Servers (Windows and Linux).
340 Network devices.
500 AWS EC2 instances.
800 AWS ECS Containers.

Data Cleansing

Establish and implement rules to cleanse existing CMDB to ensure no duplicates are created as part of automated discovery, whilst preserving preexisting, critical Cis such as business and technical services.

Re-populate CMDB

Set up automated routine to populate existing Service Now CMDB in development and test environments.
Populate ServiceNow CMDB in Production environment, refreshing using Discovery tooling thereafter.
