- Supporting pension schemes preparing to approach the insurance market to secure benefits under a buy-in and/or buy-out.
- Advising on the restructuring of pension schemes (merging and de-merging schemes) and the mechanisms needed to do this (such as putting in place flexible apportionment arrangements).
- Advising on the arrangements agreed between employers and trustees as part of a funding settlement.
- Advising trustees about the changes linked to the abolition of the Lifetime Allowance charge.
- Advising on a life assurance and excepted life assurance arrangements.
- Pensions aspects of corporate M&A.
- Drafting trust deeds and other pension scheme documents.
- Advising on complaints, supporting both employers and trustees (against whom a complaint is made) and individuals (bringing a complaint).

The Team and What You'll Be Doing
The Team
The Team handle a variety of pension matters, with a particular focus on advising companies and firms, authorities and contractors, and pension trustees, on their pension arrangements. The team also acts for individuals including high net worth individuals and the providers of pension products, and guides other pension professionals (and lawyers) through complicated pension law issues.

What You'll Be Doing
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a growing team where you'll have the chance to be involved in varied and interesting work right from the start. Given the nature of the role, you will be highly organised and be able to work pragmatically. You will be working directly with partners and senior lawyers and will also work in teams operating across disciplines for larger projects.
You'll participate in relevant practice development initiatives, have the opportunity to get involved with business development opportunities and keep up to date with changes in relevant law and practice (with support from the team's dedicated professional development lawyer). Working collaboratively with other members of the team, you will help to deliver the best outcomes for our clients and to develop other team members.
