Description
We are recruiting for a brilliant retail brand in Bristol with several offices overseas- they are searching for a highly capable Finance Manager to run the finances for a subsidiary business. This role reports into the Finance Director and encompasses theproduction of the monthly management accounts as well as the financial reporting for the business.
This will be a hybrid role, split between home and the office in Bristol.
The accountabilities for the role include:
- Overall responsibility for monthly and annual reporting for company subsidiary
- Preparation of monthly management accounts to deadline
- Ensuring all control accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
- Controlling the fixed asset register
- Preparing all management information including stock analysis
- Providing all financial reporting for company
- Providing all year end information to auditors and supporting to conclude yearend audit
- Overseeing regular stock takes ensuring cut offs are adhered to and investigating variances
- Provision of VAT and export reporting for relevant tax authorities liaising with local accountants
- Provision of information for weekly and monthly payroll for overseas staff to local bureau
- Working with the ledger team to ensure that the purchase ledger is clean with all cash allocated in a timely manner
- Working with the ledger team to ensure that sales ledger is clean
- Support ledger team with credit control as and where needed
- Managing cash flow in consultation with FD and making in advance stock payments as needed
- Regularly review standard costs
- Be prepared to take responsibility for other group entities as part of development
- Highly IT literate with excellent Excel skills
- Qualified accountant or Part Qualified or QBE
- Experience of Great Plains would be beneficial but not essential
- Experienced working in SME as part of small team
- Used to covering "allbases" in accounts for a small company
- Experience of system implementations would be advantageous
- Selfstarter able to work to strict deadlines
- Used to working on own initiative and managing own time
- Able to support and influence other members of finance team
- Active and keen to develop knowledge of the business
- Keen to drive process improvement
