Are you an Electronics Design Engineer, with experience designing inverters for drivetrains, looking for an opportunity to join a rapidly growing SME that is designing and developing the most impressive and innovative heavy-payload UAVs on the market, which are being used in military and humanitarian missions around the world?

Do you want to use your hard-earned skills in inverter modelling for BLDC motors, where you will run simulations to analyse inverter designs and continuously improve products before manufacture, working closely alongside the R&D team to ensure the highest standards are upheld throughout the design and development process?

On offer is the opportunity to join a highly innovative and rapidly growing company that is changing the face of quadcopter UAVs in the UK and beyond. They were recently purchased by one of the world's largest aerospace companies, and they now have the opportunity to rapidly scale up their operations and improve their processes across the board.

You will play a key role in the design and development of BLDC motors, where you will use your experience in designing power electronics (operating at over 100V and 10s of kWs) to facilitate the manufacture of UAVs with the capacity to lift 180kg.

The Role:

• Design BLDC motors alongside the R&D team
• Run simulations and analyse inverter designs, to prepare for manufacturing
• Conduct PCB layout and semiconductor selection to facilitate the inverter design
• Conduct inverter thermal modelling, to ensure proper cooling systems are implemented
• Develop test procedures to ensure and validate inverter functionality
• Optimise designs for manufacturing and reliability

The Person:

• Experience designing power electronics that operate at over 100V
• Experience designing BLDC motors
• Experience with PCB layout and semiconductor selection
