Expertise demonstrable in one or more specific specialist areas relevant to the engineering discipline with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills.
Conceptual Design:
Develop concepts and ideas for new products or components based on project requirements and specifications
Detailed Design:
Create detailed designs and engineering drawings using CAD software (Computer-Aided Design) such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA
Prototyping:
Work with prototype teams to create physical prototypes of designs for testing and evaluation
Analysis:
Conduct analysis and simulations (e.g., Finite Element Analysis) to assess the performance, durability, and safety of designs.
Material Selection:
Select appropriate materials for components based on mechanical properties, cost, and manufacturing considerations
Manufacturability:
Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, considering factors such as ease of assembly, machining, and manufacturing processes
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including other engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure design requirements are met
Problem-solving:
Identify and troubleshoot design issues that arise during development, testing, or production, and propose solutions
Documentation:
