    Hours: 20 up to 35 hours per week

    Rate of Pay:

    35 hour week: £27,000 basic

    Supplements for weekend working.

    Overtime for sleeping night (8 hours).

    You will be supporting a high achieving young woman with a passion for life. Living independently in York, she needs a *female personal assistant/companion with a good sense of humour, patience, and enthusiasm to join her dedicated 24-hour support team. Your verbal and written communication plus IT skills must be excellent.

    She has a complex physical disability and for communication relies on hearing aids, lip reading, and uses an electronic communication aid for many interactions. Her physical disability means you will provide carry out all tasks she is unable to perform independently including personal care.

    Besides studying at post-graduate level she regularly speaks at conferences and workshops about life with a communication impairment and physical disability.

    Brief details of the job:

    You will join a great team who work on a 1-1 basis around the clock (including at least one sleeping night per week), for some activities you will also work with another team member. Apart from being female and a driver , only life experience is needed. What is important is your personality You need to be calm, patient, and level-headed, love to laugh, have a sense of adventure, want to be busy and be willing to live her life with her whenever you are on shift.

    No two days are the same, she loves travelling (passport required), volunteers for 2 charities, keeping fit, socialising and enjoys entertaining. You should like food and cooking Part of the role requires you to be away from home for weekends through to longer trips. She has her own adapted van which team members drive.

    Successful applicants will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support.
