    Default job background
    Description

We're on the lookout for the innovators of the future – people at the start of their career who are excited by the idea of helping businesses large and small to reinvent themselves and build better products and services. If you're a creative thinker who loves to make things happen and are hungry to learn, this could be an opportunity to build a bright career in a fast-paced, dynamic, fun young consultancy business.

You'll get lots of exposure at &us, as you join small teams cracking transformation and product innovation challenges for a wide range of clients. Our projects range from co-creating new propositions, businesses, an innovative product using novel technology or reimagining an organisation's future and partnering with them to move towards that vision.

We are hiring a small number of Juniors at the same time, so you will be part of a small group from day one. You will share the experience of onboarding at &us, building a new career and learning together. We believe that working together in person supercharges learning as well as making work fun, so you'll be in our Old Street office (and/or client workshops) at least three days a week. There'll be plenty of opportunities to flex and work from home as well.

    What you'll be doing

You'll join the team on a live client project, supporting the day to day work whilst collaborating with more experienced colleagues from across the business. We want you to experience lots of variety at &us, across clients, projects and industries, allowing you to explore where your skills and interests may lie, and develop at pace. Some of the things we'll ask you to get involved in are:

In our Innovation practice, we partner with our clients to invent brand new consumer products and services (and re-invent some existing ones). Our innovation work has ranged from testing the potential market for a new line of 3D printed hi-tech running shoes to developing a new application to charge e-scooters in the micro mobility industry. On Innovation projects you'll be teaming up with our Strategists and Designers to create, explore, and test new concepts. You'll be involved in research into technology, behaviours and cultures and supporting project teams to tell a great story and bring a point of view to life in a creative way, from light sketches to lo-fi designs.

    Transformation

In Transformation, we partner with organisations to make sure that their people are set up to respond to new opportunities and challenges that the future will bring. This could include upskilling teams in innovation capabilities, training leadership or working with clients to redesign their systems and processes. When involved in Transformation projects, you'll be supporting the team to design, plan and facilitate amazing sessions that help clients move towards their organisational goals. Working with your peers you'll use, adapt and improve our innovation tools – or create new ones – as we respond to our clients' needs.

No matter the project you're on, we want you to learn how to deliver a fantastic client experience – one that is professional, engaging, fun and results in outstanding quality work. You'll support the project Lead to manage the budget, logistics and planning, for projects including the preparation and on-the-day production of engaging client sessions which could be virtual, in person or a hybrid of the two. You'll ensure that all materials required are available on the day. Alongside your peers you'll keep a look out for opportunities to add magic to the client's experience, in ways that bring joy or make our work stand-out.

    Your experience

    • 1-2 years work experience – preferably in a creative field
    • Ability to pick up and learn new software easily e.g. G Suite, Notion, Miro, ChatGPT as well as more technical prototyping tools such as Figma (with some support)
    • Fantastic communication skills (written, spoken, and presented)
    • Experience with managing your own deadlines, and delivering good quality work within a project timeline
    • A passion for designing experiences, products, services and strategies
    • Enthusiasm for working as part of a multidisciplinary team and enhancing how people think, learn and work together
    • Curiosity and an interest in unearthing insights and making complex things simple
    • Entrepreneurial flair, confidence to try new things but with the humility to take feedback onboard and learn from mistakes

We have a strong client portfolio, across Technology, Pharma, Financial Services and Retail. Using a range of design thinking and agile methodologies, our best work sees us working hand-in-hand with our clients to make things, coaching them as we go in the skills, tools, and mindset they need to make sustainable changes for the better.

Today our 50+ community is made up of designers, strategists, transformation consultants and a network of trusted, expert associates who've helped organisations like Lloyds Banking Group, Macmillan, Novartis, River Island, HP and The Economist.

What's in it for you Growth and opportunity

Alongside your fellow Juniors you'll join an awesome team of smart, interesting and curious people who love to create 'good trouble'. A lead consultant will guide and support you, finding ways to bring you and your peers together to connect and learn as a group.

We'll rotate you through a team of designers, strategists and transformation consultants who will act as your managers and enable you to develop at pace. You'll join your manager on their projects and work closely with clients early on with considered and constant feedback aimed at building rigour and discipline in our work, as well as your confidence on your feet.

Alongside this you'll be invited to join all three of our Community of Practices (Transformation, Strategy and Design) in their monthly and quarterly events to contribute and absorb industry leading thinking as we navigate and develop the future of our industry.

You'll be given plenty of exposure and autonomy from day one – if you are hungry to learn, develop and like to get stuck in, you'll have a wonderful career at &us.

There are many reasons why you'd want to join &us, but here are a few of the benefits we'd like to call out:

    • A collaborative, open and inclusive culture
    • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
    • Office closure between Christmas and new year
    • Paid sabbatical after 4 years working here
    • Discretionary 'Profit Fair Share' bonus
    • Health and life insurance
    • Employee assistance loans
    • Well-being support (eg. counselling and financial coaching)
    • Two-day annual retreat, parties and regular socials

    Want to join &us?

Please don't get disheartened if you do not fill all of the boxes. We would still love to hear from you. Simply drop our People and Talent Manager, Alex ) an email with:

    • Your account of why you'd be the right choice for this role, now, at &us?

We value great writers and communicators. Please keep your email succinct.

Applications close Monday 06 May 2024 and interviews will be held from week commencing 13 May 2023.

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. If you need any reasonable adjustments, please let us know.
