    Your Role at HMC

    As a Principal Consultant, you will be a key team member, playing a pivotal role in:

    • Managing critical projects across HMC's diverse spectrum of work, with a focus on one or more of the following areas:
      • UK marine policy & regulatory delivery;
      • Fisheries policy & management;
      • International blue economy.
    • Being an ambassador for HMC within the global marine community and contributing to our thought leadership.

    Qualifications for Success

    To excel in this role, you will need:

    • 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: UK marine policy & regulatory delivery; fisheries policy & management; international blue economy
    • Familiarity with intergovernmental, regional, or national governmental bodies
    • A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong client and stakeholder relationships
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • A strategic and innovative mindset, coupled with the ability to make informed decisions backed by evidence

    Desirable, but not essential, experience for this role includes:

    • Applied experience across public, private, and NGO sector
    • Experience working with multi-lateral global organisations such as the UN and its associated bodies and the World Bank

    Location and Compensation

    Roles are fully remote and home-based in the UK, with potential domestic and international travel requirements. To be eligible for this role, you must currently reside in the UK and have the legal right to work in the UK.

    The salary range for this role is £43,000 – £49,999. Please note, staff typically join the company at the bottom of the relevant salary band and will benefit from an annual salary review where pay rises will be awarded in line with performance. Roles are typically full-time, 37.5 hours per week, but we are open to considering requests for part-time hours or different working patterns.
