Teaching Assistant, 1-2-1 support for a Key Stage 4 Boy, Alternative Provision

Are you a Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours? This small Alternative Provision is looking to add an experienced Teaching Assistant or Classroom Assistant to the team to work on a 1-2-1basis with KS4 boy with additional learning needs.

This school has a fantastic reputation for helping children to reengage with education, and is looking for a patient, caring and resilient Teaching Assistant to support one of its newest students.

As a 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant at this school you will be providing academic and pastoral support for a student who has recently been excluded from mainstream education, excellent behaviour management and communication skills are essential for this position.

You will be joining a small and experienced team of Teaching Assistants who are focused on breaking down barriers to education and communication, allowing students to get the most out of each and every day.

Facilities at this school are excellent and you willreceive an abundance of support from a friendly and welcoming team.

This role requires experience working with challenging behaviours or SEMH needs and a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.


Job role:


  • Supporting a child with additional needs on a 121 basis
  • Acting as a positive role model and behaviour mentor
  • Providing in class support as a Teaching Assistant
  • Making school a welcoming and supportive place for the student
  • Remaining calm and managing challenging behaviours
