    • The ATS Automation Division, are pleased to offer the opportunity of joining our expanding project team, in the position of Control and Automation Engineer. The role offers a complete project life-cycle experience, from pre-sales support, design, development, configuration, and commissioning, for various automation projects, within both existing, and new target customers.

    Role Summary

    As a Control and Automation Engineer you will make an impact:

  • Working in conjunction with our core Controls & Automation Team, you will help develop and deliver future projects supporting our growing client base in the region.
  • You will be involved in pre-sales opportunities with new accounts and developing opportunities in existing accounts.
  • You will increase our response and support capability within region

  • You are committed to delivering projects 'right first time' and provide input into the technical and commercial lessons learnt process.
  • You are commercially aware and can spot opportunities that may enhance the ATS proposition for our customers.
  • You strive for professional development and career progression by combining your existing IT knowledge with experience gained in the manufacturing industry and apply this to your role and other areas within ATS.

    • Skills and requirements

  • Experience of developing automation applications Siemens, or Rockwell preferred.
  • Scada experience, from one of the following would be preferred, FactoryTalk, WinCC, Ignition, Wonderware.
  • Knowledge of functional safety systems
  • Automation hardware experience such as VSD's and Control Panels.
  • Ability to deliver small to medium size automation projects from design through to commissioning.
  • Experience with control system design, quality, and test documentation
  • You are able to self-organise and schedule customer works and deliverables in a timely manner to meet commitments.
  • You can self-manage and collaborate with others to deliver projects.
  • You are self-motivated and embrace new and existing technologies or applications.
  • You have a desire to succeed, can work autonomously and make key decisions when required.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and potentially overseas.
  • Ability to convey and present ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Possession of a current driving licence and use of your own vehicle is essential in this position
