    Company Description Harrison Group Environmental Limited is a leading geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering firm based in Cambridge, Norwich and London, UK.

    Our comprehensive range of services includes site and ground investigation, in-situ testing, drilling and soil laboratory tests in-house, contaminated land assessment, ground improvement and remediation advice, soil, rock, water sampling and UKAS accredited testing, ground gas and groundwater sampling, award-winning data management and modelling, and geotechnical consulting.

    We work with a diverse range of clients nationwide, providing high-quality services on time and within budget.

    A full-time position for a principal geotechnical engineer to take a leading role in our Cambridge office, with the flexibility for some remote work.

    As a principal geotechnical engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the department of six engineers, quoting, managing projects, completing fieldwork and monitoring, assessing data, consulting with and advising clients.

    You will collaborate with the company senior management team to review performance and develop business development strategies.

    The majority of your work will be based in our Cambridge office, although there will be site and client visits, networking events and the possibility of working from home.

    Strong experience in ground investigation, geotechnical engineering and assessment.
    Skilled in providing foundation advice, slope stability assessments, earthworks and materials assessments.
    Ability to interpret and analyze geotechnical data, prepare and check technical reports.
    Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
    Experience with geotechnical software and modeling tools.
    Work with the senior management team on business management and development projects.
    Master's degree in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, or a related field.

    Additional skills and qualifications that would be beneficial for this role include knowledge of relevant British Standards and regulations, experience with foundation design and slope stability modelling software, and familiarity with sustainable construction practices.

    A strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, experience managing people, a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements are also desirable qualities for the successful candidate.
