    Lead Engineer (Railway Traffic Management)

    An opportunity has opened up for a Lead Engineer to join our Traffic Management team at Siemens Mobility Limited, Rail Infrastructure. We operate with a hybrid working model and welcome applications from candidates across the UK. Although, regular visits to one of our core offices in Chippenham, Manchester, Birmingham, York, or Derby will be necessary.


    In this role, you will be involved in railway traffic management projects from start to finish, collaborating with a skilled and diverse team. This includes working on bids, design, validation, testing, approvals, and customer support.


    Responsibilities:

    • Work with the engineering team to design and deliver Railway Traffic Management Systems
    • Create system and end user requirements
    • Manage data production and checking
    • Lead System and Integration Testing
    • Participate in FRACAS and troubleshoot post-commissioning issues
    • Spot process improvement opportunities and oversee new processes

    You'll shine by:

    • Having a strong background in System Engineering technical systems
    • Demonstrating problem-solving skills and offering innovative solutions
    • Exhibiting excellent communication and presentation abilities
    • Showing proficiency in task and time management
    • Being familiar with AWS, Mendix, and GitLab (desirable)
    • Having experience in Railway Control Systems or Operations (desirable)
    • Demonstrating customer and commercial awareness
    • Possessing a degree or HNC/D in engineering or related field
    • Being a member of a relevant Engineering Institution
