    CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator / CNC MILLER - Salary from £35,000 - £50k DOE

    Thame Area -The Role

    We are a leading independent company, specialising in in-house prototype design services and production capabilities for plastic products, looking to appoint an experienced and proficient CNC Programmer/ Setter/ Operator/ CNC Miller to our growing team.


    As a key member of our Toolroom, your primary focus will be manufacturing precision components for Injection and Blow mould tool production.

    As a valued team member, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring apprentices and junior staff to develop essential skills, particularly in assembly techniques for mould tooling.

    You'll lead by example, showcasing the importance of maintaining high standards and inspiring others to excel.

    With a 2pm finish every Friday, what's not to love?

    Key Responsibilities:

    Manufacturing precision components for Injection and Blow mould tool production.
    Setting, operating and programming on CNC MILLING Machines
    liaise continually with our Toolroom manager to ensure the continual optimisation of our CNC machining centres is achieved.
    Working to defined production schedules you will apply a flexible approach to your CAM programming e.g. on-control as well as off-line techniques should be applied as the job dictates.
    Contribute to existing process improvements, whilst proposing the creation of new processes.
    Contribute to the design and manufacture of bespoke jigs and fixtures to support a particular project.

    Guide and mentor apprentices and junior members of staff in order for them to learn key skills such as assembly techniques of mould tooling.

    You will demonstrate firsthand the importance of high standards and encourage others to shine.

    The Person

    The ability to understand engineering drawings and CAD data.
    Have previous experience with Hurco control systems & on-control programming.
    Proficient with CAD/CAM programming software. Ideally Powershape, Powermill or VISI.

    Multi tasker - You must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate more than one machine at a time.

    Manual milling and turning.
    CNC Milling Experience
    The ideal candidate would have ideally served an appropriate engineering apprenticeship with a recognised engineering qualification gained.
    Health and safety - must have a good understanding of current legislation and practices.
    Personable - Friendly, courteous, polite with a 'can do' attitude. You will also need to be a strong communicator and be capable of participating in technical discussions.
    Professional - Competent, punctual, reliable, articulate and well organised. You will also need a strong aptitude for problem solving.
