Location:
Gloucester (Interim 6-months)
Salary:
£45k-£50k
My client is a well-established manufacturer that are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to come on board and be one of the Key members of the Operations Management team who play a pivotal role in driving the business forward.
Production Manager - Job Role:
- Efficiently managing the production resources in keeping with the manufacturing facility requirements, ensuring the care and development of production employees.
- Setting and delivering manufacturing goals and objectives in collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager.
- Control of manufacturing resources to achieve maximum productivity and material utilisation within the requirements of the production schedule.
- Management of manufacturing department employees to optimise their contribution to the overall manufacturing unit with particular emphasis on efficient individual and team working and development through excellent communication and training.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures with particular reference to
- Ensure that the means of production are available e.g. by timely request of raw materials, equipment, consumable and services from relevant departments.
- Work collaboratively with all internal departments e.g. HSE, Quality, Engineering, etc in order to ensure that production is not unduly delayed.
- Ensure the highest level of housekeeping is maintained at all times.
- Participate in developing Tenmat activities and workshops e.g. Working practices, equipment specifications, improvements in productivity and quality
- Providing support, direction and training to employees to accomplish company goals and objectives and help our employees own personal development.
- Conducting employee performance reviews and managing employee performance.
- Champion the importance of H&S and quality throughout the business in everything that we do.
- Ensuring that the plant is adequately resourced to expedite forecast workloads in a timely fashion within the confines of agreed annual budgets
- Drive all elements of OEE within the department.
- Leading change and integrating best practice
- Fulfilling all relevant Operations duties and driving continuous improvement in collaboration with other members of the Operations team.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time

Production Manager - Person Requirements:
- Able to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working alone to tight deadlines in a high change environment
- Must have previous experience in a similar Manufacturing Leadership role.
- Experience of managing a 24/5 production facility.
- Experience of managing teams through periods of change E.g Fast growth, Site moves.
- Proven track record within a fast pace, demanding manufacturing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of CI / Six Sigma methodologies with proven track record of leading initiatives and teams.
- Experience of managing both Production Operatives and Project & process Engineers.
- Drive and determination to succeed.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead the production team as well as support and mentor the team's development.
- Good organisational, time management and decisionmaking skills in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent ability to build strong internal and external customer relationships
- High standard of written English and good communication skills, and strong presentation and reportwriting skills
- Experienced and proficient in using the Microsoft suite and ERP systems.
