Technical Support Engineer

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000

Location: London (Hybrid)

We are working with a Cloud Consulting company in London, who are looking for a new Technical Support Engineer to support a business of around 50 people and growing. You will be a confident and effective communicator, working with everyone in the business from software engineers, Sales, through to the C-Suite, ensuring all operational systems are working effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the smooth running and secure operation of our cloud-based IT systems and service desk.
Providing frictionless, timely technical support to colleagues in the use of IT systems and equipment for day-to-day operations.
Ensure that accurate, suitable user documentation is created and maintained.
Ensure that operational issues are identified, recorded, resolved and monitored.
Work closely with Management and the wider organisation to introduce and maintain fit-for-purpose IT tools, processes, procedures and services.
Work closely with the Finance team to ensure cost-effective IT operations, through regular system/license reviews and contract renewals.
Ensure a reliable and robust remote-first asset lifecycle capability working closely with our IT logistics partners. Maintain accurate records of IT assets.
Ensure the timely and seamless onboarding and off-boarding of users from IT systems
Pro-actively oversee the cost-effective and secure use of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and GCP), working closely alongside our Engineering team.
Provide regular reports to Management on IT operational performance and costs.

The ideal candidate would also

Assist in the development, implementation, upkeep and support of new systems integrations, automations or data projects using cloud native platforms such as Zapier
Investigate, implement and manage a new mobile device management platform covering macOS and Windows platforms.

Technical Experience

Demonstrable experience supporting and administering multiple cloud-based IT systems. (user management, security configuration & monitoring, configuration management and problem resolution)
Experience with a large productivity suite such as Google Workspace / Microsoft 365 would be highly advantageous Understanding of modern authentication/authorization mechanisms such as SAML/OAuth2 advantageous.
Proven technical understanding to configure, manage and support the use of Windows and macOS
Understanding of Cybersecurity best-practices and a basic awareness of compliance frameworks such as Cyber Essentials and ISO

The ideal candidate:

Has a basic understanding / awareness of Linux to enable the limited management / oversight tasks required with our small linux deployments on endpoint and cloud.
Has practical experiencing with permissions / cost management within at least one public cloud platform.
