Join an oil and gas operator who are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor on a 12-month PAYE contract basis.

This is an onshore based role based at their office in Portlethen with occasional offshore travel. Hybrid working is also available.

As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the Asset and Corporate Management Team as well as external organisations to develop and execute appropriate plans to manage, monitor and improve OHS performance and implement related projects.
  • Acting as the company's onshore focal point for communication with the Offshore Safety Advisors, Medics and Safety Representatives; Asset Team focal point for all OHS queries.
  • Coordinating independent induction and advice to FPSO crew and contractors including ISSoW, CoSHH, radiation and noise.
  • Maintaining a register of OHS aspects, impacts and risks for each operating asset.
  • Ensuring the OHS compliance register is kept uptodate and addressed by operations.
  • Ensuring that contracted OHS services are scoped, guided and the results interpreted and shared with the Asset Team. Liaising with external organisations.
  • Coordinating incident review and closeout cycle.
  • Keeping track of changes of relevant OHS developments and advise on implications, ensuring that standards are compliant.
  • Reviewing RMs (modifications) on changes that could influence OHS risks.
  • Monitoring and reporting OHS performance for on
- and offshore facilities. Coordinating monthly HSE KPI reporting of the assets.

  • Reporting OHS performance to line manager and asset manager.
  • Liaising on a daytoday basis with the HSE Team Lead in Aberdeen.

Key Experience / Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in a similar role, preferably including longerterm improvement projects.
  • Willingness to perform activities onshore, offshore or with clients.
  • Visit assets on a regular basis.
  • Experience with UK OHS legislation and requirements of main regulatory bodies.
  • Experience in auditing and incident investigation.
