    Join Our Team as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer!

    Alexander Steele Recruitment is thrilled to be collaborating with a renowned food manufacturing company in Peterhead for the appointment of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

    In this significant role, you will take charge of ensuring the operational efficiency of equipment, offering comprehensive engineering support alongside the Engineering Team Leaders, Engineering Manager, and the Chief Engineer.

    What We Offer:

    • £45,680 annual salary
    • 4on 4off shift pattern (days and nights rotation)

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Execute planned and preventative maintenance, and enhance PPM's when feasible.
    • Resolve equipment breakdowns promptly to sustain optimal production line efficiency.
    • Support in managing the engineering stores by recognizing parts and initiating requisition forms for repairs and restocking.
    • Ensure strict adherence to the store's check-in and check-out protocols.
    • Guarantee that existing protocols align with Health and Safety as well as Food Safety standards, aiming to surpass these benchmarks.

    Experience and Skills Required:

    • Hold a formal engineering qualification (City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level or equivalent) or possess extensive experience in an engineering role within manufacturing settings.
    • Minimum of two to three years experience in a dynamic industry.
    • Robust background in mechanical maintenance with adept fault-finding abilities.
    • Familiarity with modern processing plant machinery maintenance is advantageous.
    • Prior exposure to food processing machinery is beneficial, though not mandatory.
    • Proficient in mechanical fitting/fabrication techniques and skilled in operating equipment like lathe, milling machine, TIG, and MIG welding tools.
